Types of Dance in Sri Lanka.🇱🇰💃🏼

There are several types of dances that are unique to Sri Lanka. There are upcountry dance traditions, lowcountry dance traditions, Sabaragamuwa dance traditions and foreign dance traditions. There are also various dance elements in the Kandyan dance tradition 💃🏼🇱🇰.

There are other dance forms in the Kandyan dance tradition such as Yakenuma, Awenduma, Kohombahella, Kuweni Asne, Bulath Padaya, Kothala Padaya and Kolmura 💃🏼🇱🇰

There are also several dance elements in the Lowcountry dance tradition . There are also dance elements in peace rituals. Yahan Dekma, Naga Kanya, Giri Dewi, Suraba Valliya, Dewol, Thelme and other dance elements are part of the Lowcountry dance tradition .💃🏼🇱🇰

There are other foreign dance forms in Sri Lanka. Bharatha, Kathak , Kathakali , Manipuri , etc. Bharatha dances very gracefully. Kathak is danced in a very elegant manner. Kathakali and Manipuri are not widely seen in Sri Lanka 💃🏼🇱🇰
